About the location of the cottage
A one hour drive from Shannon airport will have you in the townland of Parkduff in West Clare. The villages of Doonbeg, Cree and Quilty with shops, traditional pubs and restaurants are only a short distance away. The area is renowned for the hospitality of its locals and whether you meet them on the road or in the quaint local pubs over a pint of Guinness they’ll always have a friendly chat and the craic with you. Lough Donnell which is known for its diversity of birds is located
200 meters to the rear of the house. The Atlantic Coastline with a sandy beach is only a few walking minutes away.
Though the sights of County Clare are all within easy reach, West Clare itself is still one of the last secrets on the Tourist Map of Ireland. It attracts especially those visitors who look for peace and relaxation in an scenic landscape of rolling hills and rocky coast line.
The Cliffs of Moher as well
as
the spectacular coast line of Loop Head Peninsula are both only half an hour away. It is less than an hours drive to the Burren limestone landscape with its huge archeological and botanical
potential, as well as to all the sights in and around Ennis - Quin Abbey, Craggaunowen, Knappogue and Bunratty Castles.
Last not least West Clare is a centre of traditional Irish Music and Dance and many pubs throughout the region have live music all year long. Find out more about the activities on the next page...
